Is There An App To Block Text Messages

I'm looking for a app to block certain people from sending me text messages. What would be nice if they would get a response back "Sender is no longer accepting text messages." or whatever i would like it to say. I have a few options in my head, but we will keep them there.

I know there's a ton out there, but was wondering if you guys had any good luck with any.

No i can't just turn text messaging off.

i think i found one that will do what i want.

It's called Extreme Call Blocker, it did cost $6, but i think it will be worth it.

I can even set the block text messages to receive a message from my phone. Which i have it say. "This device no longer excepts text messages".

To be quite honest, half the time that people get spam messages is because they have responded to a message by telling them to stop. Then the sender knows that there is a person on the other end of the line and so sends more instead of ceasing.

Then i only want a selected few to use that option with me. Others can do it the old fashion way and email it to me.

Wow that stinks. That is why I use Google Voice for texts and when I give out my # to people I just met. It has the option to block individuals. I'm Verizon in the USA and have all texts blocked. I think to block individual users you have to request it- I don't know of any apps. On ATT there is no way to block users at all. Yay for Google Voice!

i know. It's all about the drama and i would rather stay clear.

I could change my number, but it's just not right.

I will keep trying some different apps, but some are just not the best.

Have a look at Mr. Number. Its available in the android market. There's a free and a pay version with the free version having some limitations.

most of the custom roms have a blacklist feature in the settings for text messages. just add the contact or number to that list, that is if you have a rooted device.
